The MLB trade deadline is brewing constantly with just a couple of days before it officially passes. The hottest name on the market is Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer. An earlier report stated that Scherzer “prefers” one of the West Coast teams in the National League. However, a new report has the Boston Red Sox reportedly making a push to acquire Scherzer and bring him back to the American League.

Can you imagine Scherzer joining the Red Sox?

On the other hand, Scherzer has remained adamant about going to one of the teams on the west, so who knows what ends up happening. Either way, Scherzer is likely on his way out as the Nationals will try and get something for him at the MLB trade deadline.

A lot of teams have inquired about Scherzer's services and for good reason. Although he is only a rental, he could provide a major boost to a team fighting for a World Series berth, especially given his vast amount of postseason experience.

Less than 48 hours before the MLB trade deadline passes, and get ready for a high number of star players to switch teams and sport new threads as we roll into the month of August.
