The Los Angeles Dodgers are slumping hard. They have only four wins in their last 13 games and are coming off of a sweep at the hands of the San Francisco Giants. The team once destined to make the World Series with ease is looking very mortal.

Los Angeles' offense has been awful in their recent skid. Through 60 games this season, they have been shut out thrice. They were only shut out five times all of last season. Two of their shutouts came during their slump. One came at the hands of the Chicago White Sox and the other to their hated rival.

There were legitimate conversations before the season about the Dodgers being one of the best lineups in history. Although they have a significant lead in runs per game, they have been noticeably worse as of late. They have just 47 runs in their slump, 11 of with came in a win against the White Sox. That gives them an average runs-per-game mark of 3.6, which would rank 27th in baseball over a full season. Simply put, they need to pick it up.

Although Mookie Betts is having a terrific season and Freddie Freeman and Trea Turner have been very good, Max Muncy, Cody Bellinger and Justin Turner have been below average. The Dodgers are very close to losing their lead in the NL West to the San Diego Padres and the Giants are not too far behind either.
