Albert Pujols made headlines on Monday night after the St. Louis Cardinals icon turned back the clock during the 2022 Home Run Derby. The 42-year-old put on quite a show for the adoring crowd as he took down Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies in the opening round of the exhibition competition.
Unsurprisingly, MLB Twitter was taken by storm after Pujol's amazing display in the derby. Here are some of the best tweets:

Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News probably put it best when he described Pujols' amazing first-round win over Schwarber:

Pujols and Scwharber were given an extra minute in the first round after the two stars tied with the number of home runs they hit. Albert Pujols then whipped out his magic in the extra minute as he amazingly hit no less than seven homers in what was an astounding display:
Albert Pujols crushed seven homers in one-minute swing off to boost first round total to 20 and put serious pressure on Kyle Schwarber. New life for Albert.

The Cardinals legend ended up winning the first round, and he was pitted against Washington Nationals superstar Juan Soto in the next round. Soto was just too much for Pujols, as the former emerged victorious in their second-round matchup.
Pujols may not have won it all in the 2022 Home Run Derby, but there's no denying that he was the star of the show. This was the final Derby appearance for Pujols after what has been a truly memorable career in the league. In true Albert Pujols fashion, there was no better way for him to end his Derby career with an irrefutably epic performance.
