Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin was the most downloaded Nintendo Switch game last month. The Japanese Nintendo Switch store recently released its Top 20 downloads list for the month of July. In second place was The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, followed by Crayon Shin-chan Ora to Hakase no Natsuyami. However, specific download count numbers weren't disclosed, only their rankings.

Notable western titles also in the Top 20 include Among Us, Minecraft, Humans Fall Flat, and Hades. Earlier in July, Capcom also announced that Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin sales surpassed 1 million units worldwide. This counts both digital and physical copies of the game. This is an impressive feat, considering the game exceeded 1 million sales only 11 days after its release.

The official statement from Capcom reads:

“Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) today announced that Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin for Nintendo Switch and PC has shipped 1 million units worldwide.

The Monster Hunter series consists of hunting action games that pit players against giant monsters in a beautiful natural environment.
