The Washington Mystics will be without Kristi Toliver for at least the next two weeks. The team announced in a statement on Tuesday that the veteran floor general will be re-evaluated in early July after recently undergoing treatment to address plantar fasciitis.
“Following treatment to address her plantar fasciitis discomfort, Washington Mystics guard Kristi Toliver will miss the next two weeks. She will be re-evaluated at the end of the two weeks and the team will provide updates as appropriate.”
Toliver, 36, missed her team's 77-69 win over the Chicago Sky on Friday as the Mystics improved to 7-4. She's played in eight games so far this season, averaging 4.4 and .9 assists on 29.7% shooting while playing 11.1 minutes per game off the bench.
A three-time All-Star and two-time WNBA champion, Toliver signed with Washington in late April after spending the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks. She previously played for the Mystics for three seasons in the late 2010s, helping them win the championship in 2019.
Washington signed free agent guard Abby Meyers with a hardship exception as a result of Toliver's injury and Li Meng's ongoing absence due to her commitments with the Chinese national team. Prior to being waived on May 15th, Meyers was selected by the Dallas Wings with the No. 11 overall pick of the 2023 WNBA Draft. She averaged 14.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals last season at the University of Maryland.
