The start of a new NBA season comes with a lot of excitement for fans seeing their favorite players on the court in action.

It's also the time when a lot of analysts come up with their predictions on who will win the year's championship and some individual awards. And now, the 2K Sports just came up with its own after simulating the 2016-2017 season on NBA 2K17.

In a post made on its official Facebook account, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are predicted to reach the NBA Finals, with the Cavs edging out their rivals in seven games once again.

With the Cavaliers successful in re-signing LeBron James and J.R. Smith and the Warriors adding 2014 MVP Kevin Durant to their fold, the result of the simulation may not be as much of a surprise as these two teams are the biggest favorites to win the title this season.

It is worth noting the rest of the teams and their seedings. The most interesting ones are the Minnesota Timberwolves ending up ranked fifth in the Western Conference and the Toronto Raptors only seeded the same in the East, even if they made it as far as the Conference Finals last season.

For individual awards, the game predicted James winning the MVP with Brandon Knight as Sixth Man of the Year, Dennis Schroder as Most Improved Player, and DeAndre Jordan taking home the Defensive Player of the Year trophy by season's end.

With much of the attention on the Warriors and Cavaliers, it will be very compelling to find out how other teams will fare this season and who will emerge as the other contenders.

The good news is the wait is now over as the 2016-2017 season has already begun.
