Retired NBA superstar Dwyane Wade paid his respects to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by getting a tattoo of him on Friday. MLK delivered his historic “I Have a Dream” speech 57 years ago today, so it was only right for Wade to get a tattoo of him.

Wade shared a bunch of photos of his MLK tattoo on his Instagram:

Several people praised Dwyane Wade for getting a tattoo of MLK, however, some people roasted him for the way the tattoo turned out.

The tattoo was made by the famous tattoo designer named Vanessa Aurelia, who has also done tattoos for Anthony Davis and LeBron James. She's one of the most talented tattoo designers in the country, so it's quite surprising that Wade's tattoo didn't turn out good.

Nevertheless, based on Wade's caption on his Instagram post, he was happy with the way the tattoo turned out. Here's what he wrote:

“Thank you, Vanessa Aurelia, for capturing this moment for me. 57 years ago to the date Martin Luther King Jr stood before a quarter of a million people from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and spoke the words ‘I have a dream.'”

Surprisingly, Wade doesn't have a lot tattoos. The two-time NBA champion got his first tattoo right before his final season in the NBA, so with that being said, maybe Wade doesn't realize how bad the MLK tattoo is. Also, if he really doesn't like it, he can always pay to get a tattoo removal service done to him.
