NBA legends Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett will officially be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in May 2021.

The three basketball icons were scheduled to be inducted this year. However, the ceremony was postponed due to COVID-19.

Now, the enshrinement festival has been rescheduled for May 13-15, 2021.

“These are people who have been a big part of the Hall’s success in recent years; it hurts deeply,” said John Doleva, President and CEO of the Hall of Fame, per a release on the NBA website.

“The decision to reschedule Enshrinement into May of next year, along with diminished museum guest visitation and a very uncertain future regarding our multiple collegiate and high school basketball events this fall, has forced us to make these very difficult decisions. Our goal now is to conserve resources so that we may stabilize in 2021 and return to our growth trajectory in 2022 and beyond.”

Kobe Bryant won five NBA championships, two Finals MVPs and one regular-season MVP with the Los Angeles Lakers. He's also No. 4 on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

It's sad fans won't get to hear Bryant speak at his Hall of Fame induction, but he will certainly be there in spirit.

With the San Antonio Spurs, Tim Duncan took home five NBA titles, three Finals MVPs and two regular-season MVPs. He is universally recognized as the greatest power forward in NBA history.

Kevin Garnett, unlike Bryant and Duncan, changed teams during his NBA careers. KG won the 2004 MVP Award with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the 2008 title with the Boston Celtics. Garnett played for the Timberwolves, Celtics and Brooklyn Nets during his career.
