Lamar Odom is known for having a wild NBA career and history, and according to the former superstar, he added fuel to the story of his career, claiming that he needed to use fake appendages in order to pass a drug test in order to play for the 2004 Olympics team.
In an excerpt from his newest book, Darkness to Light, Odom said that he had to go out and find a fake penis in an effort to pass a drug test to make the team.
“…The joy of being named to the twelve-man roster quickly turned to anxiety when Olympic officials informed me that I would have to pass a drug test before officially joining the team.”
According to Odom, he was informed the drug tester would be at his house, and while Odom had been smoking weed “every day” during that summer, he had to find other ways to beat the test.
“We started googling ‘fake penises’ and studied different ways to beat a drug test. After an exhaustive search we ordered a giant, rubber, black c*** to arrive the next day,” says the excerpt.
Odom went on to discuss how he recruited a trainer to help him pass the test, describing how he was able to bypass the drug testing of the Olympics and make the 2004 team.
Odom went on to earn a bronze medal with the team, and that 2004 team is widely known as being the catalyst for USA basketball taking the Olympics much more seriously.
