LaMelo Ball was selected by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2020 NBA Draft, meaning that his father, LaVar Ball, will be a popular figure in Buzz City as well.

With his son set to play for Michael Jordan, LaVar shared whom he believes is the greatest player of all time.

While speaking to Shannon Sharpe on his show “Club Shay Shay,” Ball discussed his opinion on the NBA all-time debate between MJ and Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James

“The greatest of all-time, how do you measure that? You measure that by your victories and what you did in those victories. I ain’t taking about you got 12 rings and you’ve been on five different teams. I’m talking about a dude who went to the Finals who was the main guy six times in a row,” LaVar said of the NBA GOAT debate, per Yahoo! Sports.

“When you have losses on your record, you can’t be the greatest of all-time. That dude ain’t got no losses in the Finals. So it’s always going to be Michael Jordan until my boys succeed that, which is going to happen.”

Of course, LaVar was previously quoted as saying that he could beat Jordan one-on-one in a game. With that said, it's rather surprising to hear the Ball patriarch admit that MJ is the greatest of all time.

Of course, as usual with LaVar, there's a caveat, saying that one of his sons will surpass Jordan someday in the GOAT discussion.

Lonzo Ball was on the Los Angeles Lakers before the team traded him to the New Orleans Pelicans to acquire Anthony Davis, which could have swayed LaVar into disliking LeBron. Nevertheless, LaVar is confident that one of his sons are destined to join Jordan and LeBron in the NBA GOAT debate when it's all said and done.
