It was all fun and games during the NBA Rookie Friday session between Dennis Smith Jr. and Markelle Fultz, who got into some vintage video games, but not before giving each other some flack for their respective teams.

Fultz entered the room, welcomed by the host, Jeff Eisenband and Smith, only to look into the camera and say “Mavs suck, just to let y'all know, Philly pride,” warranting a response from the No. 9 overall pick, who said “Philly ain't been good since A.I.”

Shots have been fired!

While in reality these two players get along just fine, they will both have to defend their city pride this upcoming season, as both franchises have undergone a rebuilding phase in hopes of a better future.

Fultz is the hope behind “The Process” — which will likely trot out J.J. Redick, Ben Simmons, Dario Saric, and Joel Embiid alongside him, exhibiting plenty of youth and talent to boot that will only get better with time.

Smith is in position to challenge for the starting point guard position and will have a key veteran in Dirk Nowitzki, one of the six players to ever reach the 30,000 career points mark, and one who has plenty of experience through his 19 years in the league.
