Much like the rest of the NBA world, former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce couldn't believe that Kemba Walker and Blake Griffin have been kicked out of their respective team's rotations.

New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed recently that Walker has been officially removed from their rotation. Now, the Big Apple franchise is reportedly seeking to trade the veteran guard.

Meanwhile, Griffin hasn't played in the Nets' last two games after starting all the 17 games he has featured in this 202-22 NBA season. Head coach Steve Nash made the shocking move as he continues to tweak their lineup amid Kyrie Irving's absence. LaMarcus Aldridge has taken over Griffin's starting spot and has been effective in that role.

However, Pierce himself was shocked to learn the development. After all, these are former All-Stars we're talking about.

“So you telling me Kemba Walker and Blake Griffin are not even playable anymore Damn!!” Pierce wrote on Twitter.

While there is still a possibility that Blake Griffin features for the Nets, especially since Nash likes to adjust his rotations, it looks like Kemba Walker's time with the Knicks is over.

However, as Paul Pierce hinted, that doesn't mean Walker is no longer capable of providing significant contributions to NBA teams. Simply put, the situation and system in New York is just not the right fit considering his shortcomings on the defensive end.

It remains to be seen what will happen to the two ex-NBA stars. However, it is certainly worth keeping an eye on as the season heats up and trade deadline nears.
