With the All-Star Game approaching, it is not exactly clear how the NBA will schedule All-Star weekend.

However, with talks of merging the events that usually take place on the Saturday of All-Star weekend with Sunday's All-Star Game, there is a possibility that fans will see some favorite spectacles like the Slam Dunk Contest.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the dunk contest could be featured during half time of the All-Star Game, which is set to take place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on March 7.

The NBA is progressing on a plan to incorporate the slam dunk competition into halftime of the All-Star Game on March 7 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, sources told ESPN.

A three-point shootout and skills competition are also expected to be part of the Sunday night event, sources said.

It remains to be seen how the league will cram all the competitions in one night, especially the dunk contest in the break since it certainly takes a lot of time. It's highly likely there will be a new format for the competitions to scale the whole event down, though Woj noted the NBA will finalize the rules later in the week.

Per the ESPN report, the NBA will  also be announcing its health and safety protocols along with the details.

Just like the All-Star Game, it's possible the planned contests will be met with criticisms. The likes of LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard have already spoken out about their disbelief that the ASG is proceeding amid the pandemic.
