The Pistons are (15-46) on the season and are coming off a 1-point win against the Charlotte Hornets in OT last time out. The Wizards are (27-33) on the season and have a chance to make the playoffs if they go on a run starting now. They are fresh off of a horrible 92-86 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers last game. Washington is currently 11th in the East by two games behind the Atlanta Hawks.

Why The Pistons Could Cover The Spread

Detroit is just (11-24) against the East this season compared to the Wizards who are (20-20). The Wizards have clearly been the better team this season but that does not mean they will win tonight. Detroit comes into this game as the underdogs on the roads which is the right call. As of right now, however, the Pistons seem to be playing better than the Wizards. One major reason is Bradley Beal is out for the Wizards with a wrist injury. His season is likely over and there is no real rush to bring him back unless the Wizards start winning games.

The Pistons are (3-7) over their last 10 games but did beat two playoff teams in the Boston Celtics and Hornets. Cade Cunningham is finding his mark in this league and Saddiq Bey is becoming a star himself. Those two can lead the Pistons to a win here tonight against a short-handed Wizards team. It looks like Marvin Bagley III will be out for the Pistons alongside Frank Jackson.

Why The Wizards Could Cover The Spread

With no Beal or Kristaps Porzingis, the Wizards' top two players are out. Washington is still (4-6) in their last 10 games which means they have found ways to win some games. Kyle Kuzma will be their star for the rest of the season but he can't do this alone. He needs Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to step up and help create some scoring. Rui Hachimura is someone the Wizards need to step up big time. The former first-round pick is not playing like he is projected to. He's only averaging 8.9 points per game and so that is not enough for this team right now. The Wizards are going to need all the help they can get from this squad.

Final Pistons-Wizards Prediction & Pick

This is not a fun game to bet on tonight. But in case you must, the Pistons seem likely to cover this spread here. I know both teams are awful at the moment but if you had to pick one team to be on … I think many are choosing the Pistons here. Cunningham and company should be capable of covering this spread against a very short-handed Wizards team. The Wizards did, however, win the last matchup 103-94 back on Feb 15.

Final Pistons-Wizards Prediction & Pick: Pistons +3.5 (-110)
