Villanova head coach Jay Wright is reportedly considering retirement, but before fans even talk about him potentially coaching in the NBA, latest information highlights that such move is unlikely.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, there has always been huge NBA interest in Wright over the past years. However, his reported plan to retire is not only on Villanova but in coaching as a whole. With that said, there is no chance that he could consider going to the pros.
Woj also noted that many people believe the NBA does not appeal to Wright despite his years of success in the collegiate ranks.
There's been significant NBA interest in Jay Wright through the years, but sources tell ESPN that his intention is to retire from coaching — not only Villanova. Those who've talked to Wright don't believe the NBA holds appeal to him — not now, or in future.

The NBA interest in Jay Wright is expected. After all, he has coached the Villanova Wildcats since 2001 and has an astounding 717-520 win-loss record–which equates to a 58.0 percent winning rate. Who doesn't want a winning coach, anyway?
Villanova won to NCAA Championships under Wright, along with 16 NCAA Tournament and four Final Four appearances.
It remains to be seen what's next for Wright if he indeed steps down from his post. As for the Wildcats, they are said to have a succession plan–with Fordham head coach Kyle Neptune the top choice as replacement–to ensure a smooth transition. The 60-year-old Wright has been Villanova's head coach since 2001.
