LeBron James has a big decision to make in the summer. Should he waive his player option with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he’ll be a free agent who’s definitely going to attract an inordinate amount of attention from plenty of teams. After all, he remains as the planets’ best player even though his Cleveland Cavaliers just got swept by the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Long before the finals ended, there have been several rumors swirling with regards to James’ next destination. Teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, and yes, even the Golden State Warriors have been linked to the four-time MVP. According to the sources of Yahoo Sports’ Jordan Schultz, however, at least two of those teams now have longer odds to sign James.

Without going into logistical details, Schultz merely pointed out the intangible impact of such a move for James. Joining Kyrie Irving in Boston would reunite him with his former running mate in Cleveland, but that could also just give birth to another power struggle that the two alpha males had in Cleveland before.

On the other hand, teaming up with Kevin Durant in Golden State would create an even worse public perception for James, who is already considered as one of the most hated athletes today.

If anything, Schultz’s report should come across as good news for other LeBron James suitors, as it heightens their chances of signing the superstar – or in Cleveland’s case, pumps up their chances of keeping the 33-year-old Akron, Ohio native.
