The COVID-19 pandemic has appeared to be turning a corner with the vaccinations around the country and the NBA players are a bit hesitant to promote the vaccine. The league reached out to agents across the league asking players to participate in “PSAs to promote the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine,” according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The players have some discontent and ill feelings with the league office for many reasons, largely due to the fact that the league office is standing firm on their insistence to hold an All-Star Game in Atlanta in March. Many players, including LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, have expressed their frustrations on having to play the game in the midst of a pandemic, and the league hasn't pulled it as of yet.
Some notable NBA names who have advocated and promoted the use of the vaccine are San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich and Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and the league needs the star players to get on board with the vaccination in hopes of more people across the country to receive it.

In general, the vaccines have received mixed reviews from the nation, with some on board and some strongly against it, especially with the Government's mishandling of the situation regarding doses in many states.
Commissioner Adam Silver stated that the players and coaches would not “jump the line” to receive the vaccine, and the hopes were that by April many more doses would be made available for the league and the public. However, with each passing day, the situation gets more and more confusing, and perhaps the league and the public will have to wait longer to receive the vaccine.
The NBA hasn't done the players many favors, and the stars in the game don't feel the need to do the league any favors, especially in regards to the vaccine.
