The Brooklyn Nets stood pat at the trade deadline, but that doesn't mean other teams didn't inquire about some of their players. According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons both expressed interest in Spencer Dinwiddie, but the Nets obviously held on to the guard.

Begley mentions Magic forward Aaron Gordon as a possible candidate that Orlando could send to Brooklyn for Dinwiddie this offseason, adding that some executives believe that Gordon could help the Nets.

In 56 games and 41 starts this season, Dinwiddie is averaging 20.8 points, 6.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds over 31.3 minutes per game. However, while his counting numbers look good, his percentages leave something to be desired, as Dinwiddie is shooting just 41.5 percent from the floor, 30.7 percent from three-point range and 77.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Given that Dinwiddie's style clashes with Kyrie Irving, another ball-dominant guard, it stands to reason that Brooklyn could look to move Dinwiddie this summer.

Irving has missed most of the season due to injuries, so we haven't gotten to see him and Dinwiddie play together all that much, but just thinking about it logically, it's hard to imagine Irving and Dinwiddie making it work.

Remember: one of the biggest reasons Irving had trouble fitting in with the Boston Celtics was because the Celtics had too many other ball-dominant guys.

Spencer Dinwiddie is just 26 years old and is on a very team-friendly deal, as he is slated to make just $11.5 million next season and has a $12.3 million player option for 2021-22, so he should certainly have quite a bit of value in trade talks, even if he isn't exactly the most efficient scorer in the NBA.
