There was a rather ugly sequence during the first half of the Utah Jazz-Denver Nuggets game, and ESPN's Mark Jones had the perfect description for it as the 2020 NBA Playoffs tipped off on Monday.

Jones, who is calling the game with Doris Burke, added to his already legendary game calls:

Players are still expected to be rusty in the playoffs since they were off for such a long time. The quality of play, though, has overall been pretty good throughout the NBA considering the circumstances. This playoff opener was incredible, with the Nuggets pulling out a 135-125 victory in overtime.

The Jazz-Nuggets series should be close throughout since both teams are equally matched. Utah lost to the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2019 NBA Playoffs, while Denver got bounced by the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round.

The Jazz will ultimately go as far as Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert can lead them. The Nuggets, meanwhile, will be led by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.

Mitchell had a career-high 57 points on Monday. Murray led the Nuggets with 36.
