Atlanta Hawks power forward John Collins dished out high fives to several fans as he made his way off the floor on Saturday night. The Hawks had just defeated the Denver Nuggets, 106-98, and Collins was receiving a hero's send-off after racking up a career-high 30 points in the win .

It was a celebratory mood for all the Hawks fans. That is, until Collins hit one fan square in the face with his outstretched hand.

It must be noted, however, that the blow was not intentional, as Collins appeared to be looking in the opposite direction.

Collins, now 21-years-old, has been on a hot streak as of late.

Along with 30 points (12-of-20 from the field, 3-of-6 from beyond the arc) in Saturday's win, the former Wake Forest Demon Deacon added 12 rebounds, five assists and one block. He's set a new career-high in scoring four times over the last two weeks, including each of Atlanta's last three games (24, 26, 30).

Furthermore, he's racked up a double-double in each of his last four outings.

In his 11 appearances with the Hawks this season (nine starts), Collins has posted averages of 18.1 points (on 62.2 percent shooting from the field), 8.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 28.0 minutes per outing.

The Hawks (6-20 and 5th in the Southeast Division standings) snapped a four-game losing streak with Saturday's win. Their next shot at claiming a victory comes on Wednesday night, when they'll face the Dallas Mavericks inside the American Airlines Center at 8:30 p.m. EST.
