The Boston Celtics for the first time since 2012 reached the Eastern Conference Finals but fell short against the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games in discouraging fashion.
With that in mind, A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com is reporting that the Celtics are expected to make a major push in finding some more frontcourt help this upcoming offseason.
Multiple league sources have told CSNNE.com in recent weeks that the Celtics are focused on landing an All-Star caliber talent in the frontcourt.
General manager Danny Ainge has assembled a team that has become one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. However, they are still a notch below the Cavaliers despite the addition of Al Horford last offseason in free agency on a max deal of four-year, $113 million contract.

That said, there could be a few plausible options in free agency this summer with rumors already swirling around Gordon Hayward possibly being one of their primary targets. There are obvious connects there with Hayward having the potential opportunity to play under his former Butler head coach Brad Stevens.
The Celtics could also pursue All-Star forward Blake Griffin in free agency, but there is a growing expectation that he will re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers on a max contract that could be worth up to $175 million over five years.
Boston could possibly entertain the idea of acquiring help through a trade involving their No.1 overall pick in this year's draft. All in all, there appears to be plenty of options available for the organization to add more veteran help in the offseason.
