Though the regular season is nearing its end, there are still a few teams around the NBA landscape that are looking for ways to bolster their rosters. One such team is the Boston Celtics, who announced on Tuesday morning that have signed guard Jonathan Gibson.

According to the Celtics' official report, Gibson will wear No. 8:

Gibson is a solid scorer in every right. The 31-year-old played his collegiate ball at New Mexico State. As a freshman, he helped the Aggies win their first WAC title.

As a senior with New Mexico State (2009–10), Gibson turned in averages of 17.5 points on 44.7 percent shooting from the field (40.6 percent from beyond the arc), 2.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 34 games. At the end of his tenure with the school, he had amassed 1,541 points, which ranks seventh on the team's all-time list.

Near the end of last season, Gibson played four games with the Celtics. Prior to that, he served a very successful stint in China, where he averaged 33 points per game for the Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles. He's also played professionally in Turkey, Israel, Italy and Iran.

The Celtics will wrap up their regular season campaign with a road game against the Washingron Wizards on Tuesday night. Tip-off inside Capital One Arena is set for 7:00 p.m. ET, with TNT having live broadcast coverage.
