Initially, the Celtics sent the 24-year-old Nader to the waivers but worked out a swap over the weekend. Nader was the 58th overall pick in 2016. Last year, his first season in the NBA, the 6-foot-6 guard/forward averaged three points and 1.5 rebounds and shot 33.6 percent from the field in 48 games. He logged in 10.9 minutes per contest.

Nader played 11 playoff games for the Celtics. Throughout the season, he saw limited minutes as he played backup to Jayson Tatum who was one of the Celtics' top stars.
Purvis, meanwhile, entered the NBA in 2017 as an undrafted prospect. The 24-year-old suited up for the Utah Jazz in the 2017 Summer League. After a stint with the G League's Lakeland Magic, the Orlando Magic signed him to a 10-day contract.
The 6-foot-4 guard signed another 10-day contract and another one to extend his stint with the Magic until the end of the season. In 16 games (with two starts), Purvis logged in six points per game, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 rebounds in 18.1 minutes of play. On July 20, he was traded to the Thunder.
