The Celtics are simply cutting loose some assets with the preseason phase of the yea reaching its conclusion and with the 2018-19 NBA regular season just a week away from commencing.
Nick King and Jeff Roberson both saw action in the Celtics’ preseason finale, a 113-102 road loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct.6. In that game, King scored six points and grabbed five rebounds in six minutes of floor duty off the bench. Roberson, on the other hand, chipped in three points in the six minutes he was on the court.

He went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft after playing four years in the college ranks during which he suited up for the Memphis Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.
As for Roberson, he played four years of college basketball with the Vanderbilt Commodores from 2014 to 2018. In his final season in Vanderbilt, he averaged 16.9 points and 7.1 rebounds in 32 games.
The Celtics still have to cut one more player to make the 17-man regular-season roster limit.
