To recall, his season was cut short on Opening Night when he suffered a gruesome foot injury. And throughout the entire season last year, Hayward teased Celtics fans that he might return sooner than expected. But head coach Brad Stevens and the Celtics staff silenced such rumors.

âI dunked the basketball for the first time off my left foot without pain last week,â Hayward said. âThat felt awesome. I went into it very soft and gingerly, and after I did it, I was like, âOK, that didn't hurt it all.' I did it again, and it felt good.â
