After long runs through the NBA playoffs, the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat are fighting for a trip to the NBA Finals. In Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics have the chance to avenge their loss to the Heat in the 2020 conference finals and get back to the Finals for the first time since 2010.

Celtics head coach Ime Udoka made a pretty interesting decision prior to the big contest. He decided to cancel the shootaround before the game, which Boston has regularly done throughout the season. His reasoning was that he wanted to save his team's energy for the game.

Udoka's decision makes a little bit of sense from his perspective. The Celtics have been through a lot of tough basketball in the past two rounds and he wants to ensure that they are ready to go. He probably could have helped a more laid-back shootaround but opted instead to just let his players rest so they are ready to play extended minutes.

The Celtics will need every ounce of energy they can if they want to advance in the NBA playoffs. The Heat are at home and just won Game 6. Boston needs nothing short of the very best from Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart and company. They have the experience and talent to advance but so do the Heat.

In the conference semifinals, the Celtics were able to win Game 7 against a depleted Milwaukee Bucks team. The Heat offer a new challenge and Udoka is making sure his squad is up for it.
