The Boston Celtics have lost three straight games, the longest skid of their season. Yet shooting guard Jaylen Brown isn't discouraged by this lapse in his play, instead planning to remain aggressive and chipping away until wins start to pile up:
“For the most part just keep trying to be aggressive and take what I see,” said Brown, who is averaging 15 points per game through the skid, according to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe. “Play within the offense of course. Brad’s calling the plays out there, so I’m playing off him. He’s managing the game. So whatever he sees, trying to be aggressive through that.”
“For whatever reason, guys are a little too comfortable playing against us. We’ve got to watch the film, get back in the lab. All is not lost.”
The Celtics' losses have coincided with Jaylen Brown's poor play. He shot under 36% from the floor in each of his last three games, scoring 23, 16, and most recently six points in a loss to the Joel Embiid-less Philadelphia 76ers.
Boston could face some problems if the race for the playoffs gets tight in the Eastern Conference, as the Sixers are now 3-0 up on the Celtics, boasting a huge tiebreaker that could cost Boston potential home-court advantage.
While the Celtics have also been marred with Kemba Walker's absence, his quick ejection earlier this week, and a lack of consistency during this three-game skid, president Danny Ainge chalked it up to a lack of effort, claiming his team needs to start showing it on a consistent basis.
