After leading the Boston Celtics to the NBA Finals in his first year as the team's head coach, Ime Udoka has been on the receiving end of a ton of praise from in and around the league. At this point, there is no doubt that the 44-year-old is one of the best young coaches in the NBA today.

Celtics star Jaylen Brown sang his coach's praises after Boston's Game 7 victory over the Miami Heat. The All-Star swingman could not help but take a shot at the league for how it previously underestimated the talent level of coaches simply because of the color of their skin:

“I mean the proof is in the pudding,” Brown told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “Look around the league. Now you’re starting to see what we can do in the coaching ranks. Before, the talk was that certain people of color were not qualified to do their jobs or whatever the excuse was. Man, you give these guys an opportunity and look what they did with it. First-year head coach Ime Udoka took us to the Finals. Look at Monty Williams in Phoenix, look at Dallas with Jason Kidd. You look at all these coaches around the league, and I’m happy to see that they’re finally getting an opportunity. Black coaches and people of color are deserving and they’re capable of getting the job done just like anybody else.”

Brown was one of the most prominent voices in the NBA during the Black Lives Matter movement a couple of years ago, and the Celtics star is making sure that he continues to speak out about any and all injustices in the league. He's hit the nail on the head here as well, and the great things Udoka is doing in Boston serve as a clear testament to this fact.
