The Boston Celtics will be in attendance during the Staples Center memorial service for Kobe Bryant, which will be held on Feb. 24.

Celtics swingman Jaylen Brown recently opened up about having the privilege of attending this solemn occasion, and according to the 23-year-old, it will be an absolute honor for him to be able to pay his final respects to the fallen legend:

The memorial service coincides with a matchup between the Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers the day before. There could not have been a more ideal matchup to commemorate Bryant's competitive nature, given the historic rivalry between these two franchises.

This will be an important matchup for the Celtics as they face off the top team in the Western Conference. Despite losing some of their main guys over the summer, Boston has been tremendous this season. They are currently 38-16 and sitting in the third spot in the East. The C's are also just a game and a half behind the second-placed Toronto Raptors as they jostle for positioning atop the conference.

As for the Lakers, not only will this be a chance to get a win against a longtime rival, but it will also be an opportunity to avenge their loss against the Celtics last month. The C's blew out the Lakers on Jan. 21, 139-107, at TD Garden, so LeBron James and company will definitely be out for some revenge in this rematch.

Both teams will have games before this matchup, though, with the Celtics traveling to Minnesota to play the Timberwolves and the Lakers hosting the Memphis Grizzlies.
