The Boston Celtics fell short of their ultimate goal, losing to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. Unfortunately, Jayson Tatum played a huge part in their inability to get by the Dubs, struggling all series long and failing to live up to the expectations as the organization's franchise superstar.
Nevertheless, there is still a bright future for the 24-year-old and hopefully many more Finals appearances ahead. Despite his lack of productivity on the big stage for the Celtics, Tatum's dad made sure to let his son know just how proud of him he is with a heartfelt IG post on Friday.

You have to appreciate that father/son love. Tatum averaged just 21.5 points, seven assists, and 6.8 rebounds in six games against the Dubs and shot just 36% from the field.
The Celtics forward couldn't carry Boston as he did for most of the postseason, but for a dad to just see his kid on the grand stage in basketball, it's sheer pride. There is no question he's facing lots of criticism after this series and it's warranted. However, this is just the start for Tatum. He'll be back and his dad knows it.
