Amid the crazy start of free agency, Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum made sure to bring attention to a player he believes deserves a second chance in the NBA: Harry Giles III.
Giles recently tweeted how he's holding up as he awaits that call to play in the NBA again. He spent the whole 2021-22 season in the G League with the Agua Caliente Clippers, having played with the Portland Trail Blazers the year prior and with the Sacramento Kings in the first three years of his career.
Tatum saw the tweet of Giles, whom he was teammates with in Duke during the 2016-17 season, and gave him his support.

Coming from one of the best young players in the NBA today, Harry Giles III certainly couldn't wish for a better endorsement than that. Jayson Tatum knows what Giles is capable of, and he seems confident the big man won't disappoint the team that will give him the chance.

Maybe Tatum can also put in a good word for Giles towards the Celtics?
Giles has NBA career averages of 5.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists. After getting drafted 20th overall in 2017, his career got off to a bad start after an ACL injury kept him out his first year. He has since failed to find his footing in the NBA and was eventually let go by the Kings three years later.
Giles also didn't get much playing time in his lone season in Portland, and he eventually had to go to the G League.
Perhaps all Giles needed is an opportunity, and while he's still waiting for it, at least he still has Jayson Tatum showing him support.
