The Boston Celtics had a woeful night as they suffered another loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. To add to the tough defeat, the team also lost its two All-Stars in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown who both collided with one another with 40.4 seconds left in the fourth quarter of the game.

“I don't have any update on them,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens said of Brown and Tatum, saying he knew only that both players were being looked at by the team's doctors after the game.

After the game, Tatum cleared the air and claimed that he remains to be in good condition even after the incident. He also hoped that his teammate in Brown didn't suffer any major injuries of his own after he stayed on the ground a bit longer in pain due to the collision.

“I should be good,” said Tatum. “We'll see how I feel tomorrow.”

Two nights after he scored a career-high 60 points against the San Antonio Spurs, Tatum continued his strong showing as he put up a total of 33 points and five rebounds on Sunday. Meanwhile, Brown didn't find any luck on the floor as he was already having a tough outing before he got entangled with Tatum. He only finished with 16 points on 1/9 shooting from beyond the arc to go with 11 rebounds.

With the loss, the depleted Celtics dropped to a 34-31 record for the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference. Despite finding themselves within the playoff picture, the team can't afford to relax in their remaining games as the Charlotte Hornets are trailing behind with a 31-33 tally at the eighth seed.

In light of the situation, the Celtics' other playmakers in Marcus Smart, Evan Fournier, and Payton Pritchard are expected to step up if need be as they await to see if both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will be good to go in the coming games.
