Rajon Rondo hit a game-winner at the buzzer against his old team, the Boston Celtics, as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, so naturally, Kevin Garnett had mixed feelings about it.
Rondo and Garnett won the 2009 NBA championship with the Celtics, ironically against Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.
KG says he was happy to see his friend Rondo hit the clutch shot, but said that he was upset it came at the expense of the Celtics, a franchise Garnett still has a lot of love for.

Because you’ve been in those shoes.
“If you’ve ever been in a buzzer-beater, and I’ve been on both sides where I’ve actually hit the shot, and I’ve actually had someone hit the shot on me or against me. I was happy and sad all in one. I’ve never been happy to have my homey be happy for him, and be gassed for him. I think (LeBron James) pushed the crowd over there on purpose to kind of dig at me a little bit on some shots, but it was a good time for Rondo. I was happy for him, man. Bad for my team, but great for ‘Do.”
Celtics fans must have thought they were in a nightmare during that game. To see their former point guard in Rajon Rondo hit a game-winner at the TD Garden while wearing a Lakers uniform is something that had to make the city of Boston sick to their stomach.
