Marcus Smart and Jayson Tatum both got hurt on Sunday versus the Orlando Magic. Smart suffered a hip injury, while Tatum, who was already dealing with a left shin contusion, re-aggravated it.
The Celtics are trying to be healthy and fresh for the playoffs, which begin on Saturday, April 13. Boston will have home-court advantage against the Pacers in the first round. The Celtics went 3-1 against the Pacers in the regular season.
Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward didn't play in the 2018 playoffs. Both All-Stars were both hurt. Boston went to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals last season. They lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers at home.
Before the season started, the Celtics were the preseason favorite to win the Eastern Conference. The team has been very inconsistent this season, though. It's going to be interesting to see if Boston can flip the switch in the postseason and go on a deep run.
