The Boston Celtics are in the middle of a four-game California road trip that saw them earn a convincing 128-95 win against the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors and a 111-109 against the Sacramento Kings. They are now in Los Angeles to face the Lakers on Saturday and the Clippers on Monday.

All-Star guard Kyrie Irving has been impressed with the Celtics' performance during the road trip, and he said one major factor for their recent success is the fact that they are having fun.

“Just some joy. Just having fun playing basketball and competing for one another.”

The Celtics are slowly but surely looking like a championship contender after struggling for most of the season. Despite the talent in the roster, they haven't been able to figure things out all year, and even these recent victories aren't a guarantee that they are finally going to play better moving forward. Still, Boston is taking baby steps to try to figure things out heading into the postseason.

If the Celtics continue to play well, they will be able to bring a wave of momentum in the playoffs. They will have the opportunity to exact revenge against a reeling Lakers team who has lost four straight games.

Boston lost to the purple and gold on a buzzer beater by Rajon Rondo just before the All-Star break, and they would like to return the favor by handing a beat down on their long-time rivals.

But beating the Lakers is just the icing on the cake for the Celtics, their main goal is to finish the road trip on without a loss.

And by the looks of it, they are capable of doing that.
