The Boston Celtics will be without Marcus Smart on Monday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Smart is dealing with an eye infection.

Smart can't seem to get away from the injury bug. He missed one game recently due to an abdomen contusion.

The Celtics are 16-5 on the season. They are in second place in the Eastern Conference standings entering Monday’s game against the Cavs.

In 20 games this season, Smart is averaging 11.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He’s shooting 38.7 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 87.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Celtics are getting Gordon Hayward back on Monday. Boston fans can't wait to see the team fully healthy once Smart is back from his eye infection.

Kemba Walker, who replaced Kyrie Irving as the starting point guard for the Celtics, has gotten off to a fast start in Boston. The three-time All-Star is putting up 21.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game in 20 appearances.

Smart, 25, is making $12.1 million this season. Boston appears to be on its way to redeeming itself from last season when it failed to meet expectations.

This year's Celtics are currently clicking on all cylinders, and getting Smart back in the lineup with Hayward will be big news for the Cs.
