It hasn't been a smooth season for the Boston Celtics by any means, but shooting guard Marcus Smart still loves the city and team he plays for.

Before the season started, the Celtics were the consensus pick to win the Eastern Conference and challenge the Golden State Warriors for the 2019 NBA championship. However, they are only fourth in the East with a 37-21 record entering the All-Star break, and have have had players-only meetings and Kyrie Irving call out the young guys on the squad.

Marcus Smart, though, is trying to see the positives after the team won two straight games and took to Twitter to let everyone know he absolutely loves Boston.

Irving is the best player on the Celtics, but a case can be made that Smart is the most important. The energy he plays with is contagious and Boston is just a different team on both ends of the floor when Smart is playing well.

In 57 games this season, Smart is averaging 8.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists. The 24-year-old rugged defender is shooting 40.2 percent from the field, 35.9 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Celtics can still win the East because they have so much depth on the roster.
