Just a day prior to the release of The Prelude, NBA 2K18 has unveiled the new cover of the game, featuring Kyrie Irving donning the Boston Celtics' Icon jersey.

Kyrie Irving's prior cover featured him on a reverse layup pose with his old jersey, the Cleveland Cavaliers' — something the 2K Sports team quickly scrapped out, as they showcased this new one in the screens of handheld demos during their “Run The Neighborhood” event.

NBA 2K18 now boasts a brand-new, groundbreaking MyCareer mode, featuring an almost RPG-like platform for the player, giving more attention to the off-the-court events than ever before.

Aside from its signature keen attention to detail, smooth graphics, and realistic gameplay; the game will include the latest in shoe models, including Lonzo Ball and his Big Baller Brand Zo2's — even going as far as including LaVar Ball in a few features from MyCareer mode.

The Prelude, a brief taste of the start of MyCareer mode, is set to release on Friday, Sept. 8 at 12:01 a.m. on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Store as a free download. The full-fledged iteration is slated to release the following Friday, Sept. 15 in all local and online video game retailers, as well as the console-specific stores, including Steam.
