Boston Celtics backup point guard Terry Rozier says he is confident the team will turn things around after a slow start to the season.

The Celtics enter Tuesday with a record of 9-8.

Before the season started, experts picked the Celtics to win the Eastern Conference. Last season, Boston was a game away from reaching the NBA Finals, and the team accomplished that without the services of Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward, who both didn't play in the 2018 playoffs.

With Irving and Hayward back, the prevailing thought was the Celtics would be even better than last year. However, it has been an uneven start for Boston. They are currently sixth place in the East and have the 24th-ranked offense in the NBA, scoring only 105.8 points per game.

The transition of reincorporating Hayward back into the offense is taking longer than expected. The swingman is only averaging 9.8 points and shooting 38.9 percent from the field and 28.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Terry Rozier has also seen his role changed. The 24-year-old started and shined for the Celtics in the playoffs with Irving out. But now that Irving is back, Rozier's minutes and shot attempts have dipped. The 6-foot-2 scoring guard is averaging 8.4 points in roughly 23 minutes of action.

There's still a long season ahead, and one would surmise the Celtics will get it together eventually. They have too much talent on the roster not to do it.
