Boston Celtics rookie forward Jayson Tatum just keeps on putting people who stand between him and the rim on posters. Apparently, the same can be said even when it involves Tatum’s own teammates, as Celtics big man Aron Baynes could attest.
During the third quarter of Saturday night’s road game against the Brooklyn Nets, Tatum drove down the lane and threw down a nasty throwdown that had Baynes included in the poster.
All Baynes wanted to do on that play was create an open lane for Tatum by keeping Nets center Tyler Zeller from challenging the former Duke Blue Devils star’s rack attack, but unfortunately for the Australian, he seemed to have only saved Zeller from humiliation at his own expense.

The dunk also came just a day after Tatum posterized Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns in a 91-84 win at home.
The Celtics won against Brooklyn 87-85, so Baynes probably won’t be thinking about getting dunked on by his own teammate that much. Baynes would finish the game with 10 points and six rebounds. Tatum, on the other hand, bounced back from a letdown performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves in which he scored just four points by going 6 of 15 from the field for 16 points while adding six rebounds and a career-high six blocks.
Following their win over the Nets, the Celtics will have a four-day rest before taking on the Philadelphia 76ers on the road on Thursday. It would be interesting to see if Tatum could complete a dunk while being challenged by Sixers center Joel Embiid. We will just have to stay tuned for that.
