The Boston Celtics just can't seem to catch a break to have their full lineup healthy at the same time.

Only two games after welcoming back Al Horford to their fold, Jae Crowder re-aggravated his left ankle injury and appears to need time off to heal it.

The 26-year-old Marquette product felt pain in his ankle during the third quarter of their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday and was forced to sit out the last 12 minutes. Fortunately for them, his services were not missed much as the Celtics carved out the win, 99-93.

Crowder spoke about the status of his injury after the game and explained how he felt as soon as the pain started once again.

“I just didn’t have nothing. My ankles felt they locked up on me, never got loose. I took it upon myself to pull myself.

“It’s very frustrating but it’s a process. The first half I felt great, probably the best I felt. It’s a process.”

This is certainly a huge blow to the Bean Town team as they were just starting to get their groove back and currently have an 8-6 record. The 6-foot-6 wingman has also been playing solid basketball this season with averages of 11.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 26.5 minutes per game.

Marcus Smart is expected to start in place of Jae Crowder should he be forced to miss games. Gerald Green should also see an uptick in his minutes in Crowder's absence.
