After the Boston Celtics reached the NBA Finals, fans and experts alike couldn't help but compare them to the 2014-15 Golden State Warriors team that won the championship. And Klay Thompson understands why.

Just like the Warriors back then, the Celtics are in their mid-20s and have experienced the highs and lows of the playoffs. They just can't seem to get over the hump until, with a ton of patience to the young core, they broke through with the help of a new coach.

The similarities are definitely there, and Thompson is well aware that just like how they were back then, the Celtics won't easily go down without a fight.

“I think they're pretty much the age we were back then–in their mid-20s. You got to give that organization credit,” Klay Thompson said of the Celtics looking like the 2015 Warriors.

“I feel like Brown, Tatum and Smart have been there for 10 years already, and they worked hard to get here just like we did. We respect them. They present unique challenges to us, but it's just going to be a dogfight.”

The Warriors-Celtics showdown are certainly brewing to be one of the most exciting NBA Finals in recent memory. Both big-market teams have several All-Star caliber players at their disposal, and there is no doubt that they posses the firepower and lockdown defense to make life hard for each other.

While Golden State has the edge when it comes to championship experience, they know very well it doesn't guarantee them a win. After all, before they became champions in 2015, they have to take down a Cleveland Cavaliers team led by a championship veteran in LeBron James.
