It took Blake Griffin some time to score his first official basket as a member of the Brooklyn Nets, but boy was it special. After hearing all naysayers questioning if he can even dunk the basketball at this stage of his career, BG looked like his old self with this vintage move against the Washington Wizards.
In the opening seconds of the fourth quarter, Griffin, who developed into a decent stretch forward, was camping at the top of the key. He got past Robin Lopez with a beautiful pump fake and proceed to charge to the rim. With no red shirt in sight, the 2011 NBA SlamDunk champion detonated with a vicious two-handed spike. Here's Griffin's first dunk in 464 days.

The Nets social media team, meanwhile, made sure to re-tweet Griffin's highlight with a caption mocking his doubters. Blake Griffin, of course, is one of the best pure athletes the league has had in history. Early in his career, the 32-year-old forward got the bulk of his points from dunks like this one.
For the majority of his time with the Detroit Pistons, Griffin failed to show the skill and athleticism we were used to seeing out of him. It seems like he has found a new home in Brooklyn, and showed his Nets teammates and fans of the association that he is more than capable to dunk the ball when he wants to.
But injuries eventually got the better of Griffin and he became grounded in recent seasons, becoming a more perimeter-oriented player over time. In case you forgot, Blake Griffin still has hops, and the Nets have become an even more lethal team.
