Brooklyn Nets small forward Caris LeVert received some great news Tuesday.

LeVert will not require surgery after dislocating his right foot at the end of the first half on Monday night, according to the team. The third-year swingman is expected to make a full recovery and return before the end of the regular season.

This is tremendous news because when the injury first occurred, it looked like LeVert had broken his ankle or leg. It was still a dreadful scene in Minnesota, as players on both teams couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Each team circled around each other and prayed for LeVert, who received tons of support from his NBA peers on Twitter.

The 24-year-old LeVert is clearly relieved that the injury wasn't more serious. The Nets forward took to Twitter to thank the man above:

In 14 games this year, Caris LeVert was averaging 18.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from beyond the arc and 72.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Injuries suck, but what makes this injury even worse is that Caris LeVert was off to such a strong start this season for the Nets. Even though the injury could have been way worse, it's still a heartbreaking moment for a kid who was showing flashes of stardom.
