If the Brooklyn Nets are officially entering the James Harden sweepstakes, their chances of landing the former MVP could solely rest in the hands of Kevin Durant. According to reports, Harden is “intrigued” at the thought of reuniting with Durant in Brooklyn, and it appears that KD is pulling the strings to make it happen.
Per ESPN:
Durant and Harden — past teammates with the Oklahoma City Thunder — have recently discussed the possibility, but there have yet to be trade discussions between the two front offices.
The Rockets have denied any rumors that they've been secretly shopping Harden around the league for a hefty package in return. However, there is an overwhelming number of reports suggesting otherwise, with the latest batch pointing to the 31-year-old Harden being shipped to Brooklyn.

If they're able to add James Harden into the equation, they have the possibility of besting LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers out west.
Both Harden and Russell Westbrook made headlines last week when a report from The Athletic revealed the two stars' alleged uncertainty in the Rockets' franchise. The resignation of both Mike D'Antoni and Daryl Morey had left both stars feeling questionable about the direction of the club.
While Harden has spent the majority of his career playing in Houston, he hasn't been able to find success with any of his co-stars, most recently Westbrook. A trade to the Nets may be the best case for Harden at this point in his career.
