Brooklyn Nets superstar small forward Kevin Durant won’t be at the Chase Center when his Nets take on the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.

There won't be any fans at the game on Thursday because of the coronavirus outbreak:

Durant won two titles and two Finals MVPs with the Warriors. The 10-time All-Star averaged 25.8 points per game with the Warriors during the regular season and 29.6 points in the postseason.

Dubs owner Joe Lacob has already said the franchise will retire Durant’s No. 35 jersey.

Durant has career averages of 27.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 849 games with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Warriors. The former MVP is one of the best scorers of all time and Nets fans can’t wait to see Durant on the floor at the Barclays Center, competing with fellow star and NBA champion Kyrie Irving by his side.

KD told Toronto Raptors big man Serge Ibaka on his cooking show last summer he picked the Nets over the New York Knicks in free agency because Brooklyn was “farther along in the process of being a contender.”

The Nets made the playoffs last season and have a good core and infrastructure. The Knicks, meanwhile, had the worst record in the NBA in 2018-19 and have been a walking disaster under owner James Dolan for years.

Durant, Irving and DeAndre Jordan each signed four-year deals with the Nets. The three players are very close friends. In fact, Durant and Irving took less money from the Nets so Brooklyn could give Jordan his $40 million deal.

The Nets parted ways with head coach Kenny Atkinson in a rather surprising move. Multiple reports have stated that Durant and Irving weren't big fans of Atkinson.
