Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant has a short memory. Or rather a selective one. After a huge Game 2 performance against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, the former MVP was reminded by NBA on TNT's Jared Greenberg about the traumatic Achilles injury Durant suffered in the 2019 NBA Finals when he was still with the Golden State Warriors.
When asked by Greenberg if he ever thought he was going to be at this level again two years after, Durant had a savage response.
“Is that a real question?” the Nets star said in response. “What do you want me to say to that? Of course. That was two years ago. I'm looking forward to just getting up tomorrow, going to practice, watching film, and see how we can get better.”
Jared Greenberg – "Tomorrow marks 2 years since your injury. Did you ever think you’d be this good again?”
Kevin Durant – "Is that a real question? Of course! What you want me to say to that?"
Safe to say KD ain't lacking any confidence 🤣😤pic.twitter.com/T2noVxaWXm

It's safe to say that KD's confidence right now is through the roof. And, after dropping 32 points to lead Brooklyn to a dominant 125-86 rout against the Bucks, it's pretty easy to say why.
The 32-year-old has been on quite a groove in his 10th playoff appearance. Since suffering that heartbreaking Achilles injury back in 2019, the two-time Finals MVP is back to his usual self averaging 32 points per game in seven post-season games so far. He's been quite a handful for the reigning DOPY Giannis Antetokounmpo in the past two games and has clearly been a problem for the entire Bucks roster.
With James Harden out, Durant is grabbing the spotlight for the Nets and is making sure the entire world remembers that he's one of the best (if not the best) scorers in the league right now.
