Brooklyn Nets tandem Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are making a case as the best duo in NBA history…at least in terms of scoring.

After Kyrie Irving's explosion on Tuesday that saw him reach 60 points early in the fourth quarter against the Orlando Magic, he and Durant have become the first teammates in NBA history to score at least 50 points in consecutive games. To recall, KD himself put up 53 points on Sunday against the New York Knicks.

As ESPN Stats & Info noted, no other teammates have done it before in the history of the league.

Kyrie Irving didn't add more to his tally after reaching the 60-point mark, but he could have easily scored more had Steve Nash decided to keep him in the game. The Nets guard was subbed out with over eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and never returned as Brooklyn went away with the 150-108 win.

Kevin Durant, for his part, finished with 19 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the win versus Magic.

Irving certainly gave everyone quite the show, all while proving why the Nets should never be counted out in the NBA title race. While they remain in the play-in spots, they are certainly more lethal than what their record suggests.

The only problem for Brooklyn is that Irving is only available to play in home games. Hopefully, a potential change in New York City mandates will help him be able to play at Barclays Center, but for now, fans shouldn't raise their hopes up.

But hey, maybe not getting a homecourt advantage could be beneficial for the Nets since they'll be playing on the road more where Irving can play.
