The Milwaukee Bucks fell to a second-consecutive first-round playoff exit that has pushed the franchise toward some much-needed rebuilding over the offseason. However, it did feature continued improvement from star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, becoming one of the league's top players.

The 23-year-old took another leap forward as a scorer averaging a career-high 26.9 points per game, which ranked fifth highest in the league this past season. With that in mind, Antetokounmpo stated at his exit interview that he is hoping to work with future Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant over the summer to become a more well-rounded offensive player.

“I'd love to work with Kobe. Work on my footwork, my mentality. What he thinks I can do better. Watch some clips with him. If I have the opportunity to do that that would be great. That would help me get to the next level”

Antetokounmpo showed the ability to be an effective scorer with the ball in his hands and playing off of it this past season. However, there are some notable areas of needed growth as he has yet to develop a reliable outside shot as he hit just 30.7 percent of his 3-pointers, which was just a little above his 28.4 percent career mark.

If he hopes to take the next step, he must become a more effective threat from the outside while working on becoming a more effective scorer with improved footwork that should help create more scoring opportunities. Since stepping away from the game, Bryant has worked out with some of the game's top young talents in previous summers such as Kawhi Leonard and Gordon Hayward that saw a notable improvement in their individual games the following seasons.

The fact that Antetokounmpo has been this prolific of a scorer without a true outside shot could see him take another huge step forward in his development. This could help him earn his way into the conversation of being the best player in the league while leading his team to more than a first-round playoff exit.
