The Boston Celtics host the Miami Heat on Monday and small forward Gordon Hayward is available to play.

Gordon Hayward didn't play in the Celtics' previous game against the Atlanta Hawks. He was away from the team for a personal reason.

In 41 games for the Celtics this season, Hayward is averaging 11.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists. The swingman, who has been coming off the bench since November, is shooting 42.2 percent from the field, 32.3 percent from beyond the arc and 84.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Boston enters Monday with a record of 28-18, good for fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings. After getting off to a slow start to the season, the Celtics are beginning to catch their rhythm and look like a contender.

As everyone expected, Hayward has struggled this season as he makes his way back from the gruesome ankle injury he suffered last year on opening night against the Cleveland Cavaliers. There have been a few games where Hayward has looked like an All-Star, but overall, it's been tough for the 28-year-old forward to find his game.

The hope in Boston is that Hayward will use the entire regular season to knock off his rust and be stellar in the playoffs.
